EMPLOYMENT LEGAL PROTECTIONS
Federal:
As a result of June 2020 U.S. Supreme Court ruling, people in ALL states can seek recourse for employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity through the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and federal courts. (Movement Advancement Project, 2021)
State:
Oklahoma does not offer any statewide employment protections for 2SLGBTQ+ residents.
Municipalities:
Norman (nondiscrimination protections on the bases of sexual orientation and gender identity for employment, housing, and public accommodations)
Oklahoma City (housing protections, employment protections on the basis of sexual orientation for city employees)
Moore (employment protections on the basis of sexual orientation for city employees)
Edmond (employment protections on the basis of sexual orientation for city employees)
Tulsa (housing protections, employment protections on the basis of sexual orientation for city employees)
